New Publication: „Erwin Piscator’s Legacy Lives On. Conversations about Theater, Music and Politics“ A Book for all Theater Lovers and Music Enthusiasts
Bertolt Brecht once said: „Piscator is the greatest theater man of all time. He will leave a legacy that we should use.“
What is Piscator’s legacy?
What significance do political and social issues have on stage today?
How can the relationship between arts and politics be determined?
Michael Lahr explores these and similar questions in his book. His interview partners are 15 illustrious artists, all of whom have received the Erwin Piscator Award, and Gregorij H. von Leitis, founder of the Erwin Piscator Award.
Together, the answers of the various artists, form a unique document of contemporary history.
The Lahr von Leitis Academy & Archive was established to familiarize the young generation with the treasures of exiled art, in order to help them create a meaningful future that incorporates the lessons learned from history. Its goal is to use learning and the transfer of knowledge as powerful tools to fight against ignorance, discrimination, and hatred. ( more)
The Lahr von Leitis Academy & Archive was founded by Gregorij H. von Leitis and Michael Lahr in 1995. It wants to offer an environment where everyone can develop their creative potential, experience and celebrate human diversity. To this end we regularly offer lectures, workshops, seminars, and master classes. ( more)
